At St. James Trinity, we offer several ways to stay involved outside of the weekly worship on Sundays. Here are just a few ways:
EDUCATION
Lectionary Bible Study: Pastor Rick is teaching a weekly Lectionary Bible Study on Tuesdays from 9:30 am-10:30 am. This is for everyone no matter what your Bible background. You may bring your own Bible or one can be provided. We will look at the gospel lesson assigned for the upcoming Sunday.
Confirmation Class: Our confirmation classes are for 7th and 8th graders, with confirmation Sunday in the fall of 9th grade. We study a combination of Bible history, Lutheran basics, foundations of faith and practice. Class meets every Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, except on the first Wednesday of the month, class is from 1:30 to 2:30 pm due to early release.
Sunday School: Children ages Age 3 to 6th grade are welcome to attend Sunday school where they can learn about the Word of God in several ways including bible study, games, crafts and video formats. Sunday School children are released shortly after worship starts then return during the offering to be seated with their families for the rest of the service.
COMMITTEES
Church Council: General oversight of the life and activities of the congregation, oversight of staff and finances.
Covenant Board: Provides oversight and support for the sharing of a pastor with English Lutheran Church of Bateman.
Endowment Board:Maintains and distributes our financial resources above and beyond regular offerings that allow outreach in the community and around the world.
Property Committee: Care & maintenance of church and parsonage.
Parish Education Committee: Oversees the Sunday School Program, Confirmation and Adult Education.
Community Outreach Committee: Keep leadership and the congregation outreach minded.
Nominating Committee: Recruit new nominated committee members.
Audit Committee: Audit financials.
Worship & Music Committee: Oversee worship, music and special services.
Finance/Stewardship Committee: Oversee the church budget and finances.
Debt Retirement Committee: Working towards reducing the church’s debt.
Altar Guild: Prepare the Altar and Sanctuary for services.
Tech Resources: Live-stream each service on Facebook and YouTube. Continually look for ways to improve our social media as well as our online presence and quality.
GROUPS
WELCA: Women of the church meet periodically for event planning and are involved with many community outreach activities.
St. James & Friends: Meet for lunch and devotions monthly. (Currently not meeting due to Covid-19)
Prayer Chain: For prayer requests.
Quilting Group: Meet once a month to quilt and socialize.
Library: Maintains our church library.
